Patricia King, Canada Sales Director, Awarded DSA's Highest Recognition

Nu Skin Canada Sales Director Patricia King recently received the Ivan P. Phelan Award, the most prestigious award given by the Canadian Direct Sellers Association (DSA) at the DSA Annual Conference in Ontario, Canada.

“This award is the perfect commemoration of all the effort and contributions Patricia has put forth in the Direct Selling Industry in Canada,” said Matt Hall, Nu Skin Vice President of Sales and Operations, North American Region. “Nu Skin Enterprises is very fortunate to have Patricia, and we’re very pleased with the significant contributions she and many others make in our family of competitors at the DSA of Canada who are a positive voice in promoting good business practices.”

The Canadian Direct Sellers Association recognizes individuals each year who have made a significant contribution to the direct selling industry. This award is the perfect commemoration of the effort and contributions Patricia has put forth in the Direct Selling Industry in Canada and represents more than 17 years of service provided at various levels of the DSA including her service as Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

Patricia began her career at Nu Skin Canada in March 1990 and literally worked her way from the ground up. Initially a member of the warehouse staff, she later worked in the product store, where she showed great promise in working with distributors. She became the Manager of Sales a

nd Support and in 2005 was later promoted to the position of Canadian Director of Sales and Support.

“From day one, Patricia has been a strong advocate of being and doing the right things, standing true to her beliefs of what our industry is and stands for,” said Rosceline Hobbs, a Canada Team Elite.  “She has been a “rock” to many distributors, including several leaders in Nu Skin. Patricia is well known for her passion for Nu Skin, our industry, and the Direct Selling Association of Canada. She became active in the DSA in 1995 and has worked on various committees and projects for the Canadian DSA. She continues to influence and significantly contribute to the direct selling industry and is committed to Nu Skin’s mission of improving people’s lives every day.

Team Building Leads to Success: Ming Wan’s Story

After receiving his Ph.D. in Computer Science, Dr. Ming Wan conducted successful research work as a Research Assistant Professor at the State University of New York, and later as a Senior Researcher at a Fortune 500 Company.  Dr. Ming and his wife joined Nu Skin in late 2002, attracted by its high-quality anti-aging products and the opportunity in the Chinese market. Within 15 months, they became the first Blue Diamond Executive from Mainland China in the US. They have successfully built a strong and high quality team in both the US and China markets. Dr. Ming is now a Team Elite Exec and a million

dollar earner at Nu Skin Enterprises.

Nu Skin Awarded the Bravo Humanitarian Award

Seven-year-old Alinafe Billiat lives in the village of Chibimphi in Malawi with her two siblings, Michael and Charity. Both of their parents are deceased.

Eleven-year-old Xie Rongxue is from China. Her family makes the equivalent of US$75 a year.

Tupiza, a seven-year-old boy from Bolivia, lost his father a few years ago. Now he works in the mines to help support his family.

What these children have in common is hunger, a constant ache in their bellies brought on by malnutrition. And they are not alone. There are tens of millions of children around the world today who are underfed. On average, 26,000 of those children under the age of five die daily.

However, hope lives for these children. Since 2002, Nu Skin Enterprises, the Provo, Utah-based global nutritional company, has made its mission to provide the world’s malnourished children with the nutritious food they desperately need. Alinafe, Xie and Tupiza are just three of the millions of ch

ildren touched by the company’s social entrepreneurship initiative that has, to date, donated more than 257 million meals to hungry children everywhere.

For the real and tangible difference Nu Skin and its distributors, employees and customers have made and continue to make in the lives of malnourished children throughout the world, Direct Selling News presented the company with the 2011 Bravo Humanitarian Award.

Demonstrating a Difference: Tammy McClung

Nu Skin distributor and Ruby Executive Tammy McClung is rapidly building her business and finding success with the Nu Skin opportunity, but there is much more than that to Tammy.

Tammy, who will be attending the June 2012 Success Trip in Park City, Utah, works so hard at her business in hopes of instilling a sense of belief throughout her family.

“I want my Nu Skin family and my own family in Vietnam to believe in themselves and know that if this 77-year old lady can do it, they can to,” Tammy said. “I always believe that anything is possible with a burning desire, commitment, and persistence.”

tility of the Nu Skin product line—a line that both Tammy and Dr. McClung use extensively on a daily basis.

That daily use of products and the benefits from using the products ultimately led to Tammy’s decision to embark on the Nu Skin journey in October of 2011.

“I am eager to share the wonders of the Nu Skin products with everyone,” she added.

While Tammy has built a successful business for herself and her family, she has also worked hard to make a difference in the world by helping provide scholarships to Vietnamese students—including one student who is currently working on a graduate degree.

“My husband has agreed to help me with the business because he knows how much I want to do Nu Skin and continue being able to provide scholarships,” Tammy said.

While attending the Success Trip will prove to be a highlight in Tammy’s life, she continues to hold onto the real reason she continues to drive for success—the opportunity to demonstrate her difference.
